Our story

Growing With Our Community Since 1982

For more than four decades, Thetford Garden Centre has helped customers create beautiful homes and gardens.

Thetford Garden Centre began in 1982, when Jean and Paul Nixon opened a small garden centre in the heart of Thetford.

Starting from converted vehicle servicing units, and with little retail or horticultural experience, determination, hard work and a commitment to great customer service quickly helped the business flourish.

As demand grew, so did the garden centre. In 1992, the business moved to its purpose-built home on the edge of Thetford, where we continue to welcome customers today.

We remain an independent family-run business, with multiple generations of the Nixon family having played a part in our journey. That family spirit still shapes everything we do, creating a welcoming environment for customers, colleagues and the wider community.
